Memecoins on the Base Blockchain: Biden, Kamala, and Trump Tokens
The Base blockchain contains many memecoins, and with the election coming up, many of them are politically themed. In this post, we’ll take a quick look at what coins are out there that relate to President Joe Biden, Vice President (and presidential candidate) Kamala Harris, and former President (and also presidential candidate) Donald Trump.
We extracted a list of coins that reference them and here’s a short sample:
Some example coin names and symbols
Political Figure | Coin Name | Symbol |
---|---|---|
Joe Biden | BIDEN DEAD | BIDENDEAD |
Joe Biden | Dark Biden | DARKBIDEN |
Kamala Harris | Smile Kamala Harris | SMILE |
Kamala Harris | DEVIL KAMALA HARRIS | HARRIS |
Donald Trump | TRUMP ONE EAR | ONEEAR |
Donald Trump | ELON TRUMP | ELONTRUMP |
Biden Memecoins: Mostly dark humor
Most Biden-related coins have some form of dark humor, usually referencing the president’s age or that he’s not continuing. Examples are “BIDEN DEAD” (BIDENDEAD) and “BIDEN GAME OVER”. Some more positive tokens are present as well, like “Dark Biden” (DARKBIDEN) which references to a meme that Biden has a dark side / alter ego.
Kamala Harris Memecoins: Smiles and Devils
Kamala Harris-themed tokens are very common too. “Smile Kamala Harris” (SMILE) appears repeatedly, probably because Harris is known to smile and laugh more than your average politician. Other tokens like “DEVIL KAMALA HARRIS” (HARRIS) make you wonder whether this is meant positively or negatively.
Trump Memecoins: Elon Musk, Ears, and More
Trump-related memecoins are by far the most prevalent, probably because he’s also the political person covered most by the media. Many memecoins focus on the link between Elon Musk and Donald Trump with tokens like “ELON TRUMP” (ELONTRUMP) and “Trump Elon” (TRUMPELON). Trump’s assasination attempt is also commonly used in memecoin names, such as “TRUMP ONE EAR” and “TRUMP BONDAGE EAR.”
Conclusion
Memecoins seem to reflect the real world to a certain extent, anything that’s interesting or hot in the media will quickly find someone who makes a memecoin for it. As far as we could see, all these memecoins led to pretty heavy losses (except maybe for the creator), so be very careful!
